Rebecca Grubb

Originally from Tasmania, Rebecca now lives in Sydney. Since graduating with honours from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Rebecca has performed as a freelance musician and has taught extensively in schools.

Majoring in classical saxophone, Rebecca also has a keen interest in improvised music. She is a founding member of the Quadraphonic Saxophone Quartet. This group has actively supported young composers by premiering new works for saxophone quartet. She also enjoys performing Jazz and has recently completed the Young Women’s Jazz Course with Sandy Evans. Rebecca also spent several years learning the shakuhachi with Riley Lee. She is presently working on improving her clarinet and flute playing for performing in musicals.

Rebecca has taught saxophone extensively in schools and the wider community. She now teaches music to infants, primary and secondary students at Newington College. She co-writes teaching programs, conducts stage choirs, assists with band and instrumental programs and co-ordinates concerts and musical productions.
