Rochelle began playing trombone in the brass bands of The Salvation Army when she was 8 years old and hasn't stopped since. She graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music (2002) and has done further conducting study in summer schools at the University of North Texas (2005) and the University of Southern California (2009).
Although Rochelle has played in various concert bands and community orchestras, her favourite genre to play is Big Band music. She has been a member of Jazz Connection, Sydney Metro Big Band and now Sirens Big Band, and has completed the SIMA improvisation course for women.
Rochelle is currently employed as a classroom teacher and Band Director at Sydney Secondary College and also works for the Department of Education and Training's Arts Unit.
