Samantha Paver

Baritone sax

Samantha Paver graduated with Honours from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2008 having majored in classical saxophone performance.  During her studies she took a particular interest in the use of electronics as a means of expressively liberating the contemporary saxophonist, as well as making a better connection to a wider audience.

Since then, Sam has been working professionally in the Sydney music scene, performing in multiple groups ranging from jazz big bands, to saxophone quartets to popular funk acts, such as The Bakery, who released their debut album in 2009 and continue to tour and perform nationally.  This year she returns to the Conservatorium to begin a Research Masters focusing on the relationships between visual art and music.

In 2006, Sam attended and performed at the annual International Saxophone Convention in France where she also received lessons from many world-renowned professors of saxophone.  In more recent months, she undertook a personal worldwide travel adventure, forming connections and gaining inspiration from a variety of exotic music cultures and talented musicians.
