505 | Saturday 02 March - 7.00pm
Sirens Big Band return to the 505 stage to present their brand of exciting danceable big band music – jazz melded with Middle Eastern, Latin and African grooves. The band will present music born from their recent collaborations with Sandy Evans and Mohamed Youssef. Led by bassist Jessica Dunn, the ensemble also features Ellen Kirkwood (JRMA winner, Captain Kirkwood, Mister Ott, Fat Yahoozah), Lauren Benson (That Red Head), and Milan Ring (Milan, Spit Syndicate, Alphamamma).
“The Sirens are… all-funky and all-embracing in their influences… It is a combination you won’t get anywhere else and they are one of Sydney’s - if not Australia’s - treasures” John Hardaker - AustralianJazz.net
